Capacity Academy Makes Your Dental Practice More Efficient
“Dr. Mike: We are here at the Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta, and I have Dr. Chris Griffin here with me from Mississippi. Now I met Chris a year ago down at the Woody Oakes Meeting in Orlando and he spoke on efficiency and it really intrigued me. He looks young, but has been in practice 13 years and he has quite a history. He started out going to be a cosmetic dentist and that didn’t work in Ripley, Mississippi. Then he went to PPO’s and private practice, fee for service and he became extremely efficient in order to make that work.
Find Ways to Serve More Dental Patients Each Day
Dr. Griffin: I went to all the major institutes and I believed it when they said you can do cosmetic dentistry anywhere in America, so I really tried hard for a couple of years to make a cosmetic practice work. As you know, when you do a PPO, and we have a lot of factories back home and they all have PPO’s. When you do a PPO, you take a pretty good cut off your fee, over 30%. To make any money taking a PPO and serving where I live, I had to find a way to get more people through the office each day, so we took procedure efficiency to the extreme. We do right at 1.6 million of production in a year with a crown fee of $750 with fee 1 and with a PPO crown it’s more like $525 to $570 range. We are working 3 days a week and doing $1290 an hour per average daily production with that type of fee. We don’t do any fancy stuff, just regular dentistry.
Capacity Academy Motivates Your Dental Staff
Dr. Mike: With that as a background, you can see how efficient he is. He is an expert on efficiency through systems, and check list, and staff management. Now Chris has a program to teach us that. He’s becoming well known in the dental circles for teaching this. Dr. Griffin: We started out like a lot of consultants. We first made some DVD’s, some CD’s and some programs, but what we found is that if we sell it that doesn’t mean that it would get opened and put into place. My company is now called the Capacity Academy and this program is a college for the assistants because the assistants are the ones that are really going to make this program go. Motivate the staff properly and the can pull it along for us dentists. This way the doctor can focus on the patient, and at the end of the day go home.”
