Center for Employee Dispute Resolution Paul Edwards

Dr. Mike Milligan: we are privileged to have Paul Edwards of the Center for Employee Dispute Resolution (CEDR) with us out of Tucson, Arizona. They call it CEDR. Paul, tell us about what Cedr is and how long it’s been going.

Paul Edwards: CEDR has been in existance for 5 years. We work primarily with dentists. What we do is customized employee handbooks. We customize for your state, the number of employees that you have, and we customize them to your office with support. That’s the most important thing because we tie in a support period with it you and have someone you can reach out to who will help you solve your issues with your employees. We continue to train you where you want to take training. We provide it to your managers and to anyone that you want to take it.

Center for Employee Dispute Resolution Produces Ironclad Employee Handbooks

Dr. Mike Milligan: This empowers the Dr. If you feel like your staff controls things and you are afraid to let them go, then you’re held back and this is one way to help with that and to help prevent from getting sued, manage your practice better and to help you grow.

Center for Employee Dispute Resolution Helps You Apply Advanced Human Resources to Your Dental Practice

Paul Edwards: a lot of that of not taking action or have you feeling like your staff are running you and not your practice. Your employees should be running your practice for you and doing a great job. You should be doing dentistry and things that you like to do and they should be doing the other stuff. A lot of that fear is that when you get rid of someone, you might get sued. In this day and age if you’re not thinking your employees are accessing information like that, your head is in the sand. On the legal side, you want to do it the proper way. There are good ways to affect change in your staff, there are good ways to communicate to them, ways to empower them so that this is a positive experience and to give them an opportunity to self correct. Ufortunately in most instances when an office has been overtaken and is trying to get control back and implement new systems sometimes a few people have to go and you want to do that as safely as possible.”
