“Dr Mike Milligan: Hi I’m Dr. Mike Milligan and I’m here with Todd Weight of White Towel Services. I’m here at the Hinnman Dental meeting and the first booth I stopped at is this one and I have already purchased the unit. Todd tell us a little about White Towel Services. Todd Weight: White Towel Services started about eight years ago. The owner had had some experience from Asia where they use hot towels for a lot of things and thought we could do this in America. We could make this easy and it’s definitely a first-class type of an amenity or a marketing piece and in a dental situation it makes a lot of sense so we’ve been running for a while. Dr. Mike Milligan: I was walking by the booth and he jumped out at me said try one of these towels and I did and thought wait a minute I got a tell everybody about this. You’ve been in business eight years how long have you been in the dental industry? Todd Weight: We just started in dentistry. Dr. Mike Milligan: And you have about 4,000 – 5,000 clients I understand in the dental industry already.

Todd Weight: We do a lot of shows it seems to be the best way to market the product. Dr. Mike: They have two kinds of towels, you have a regular wipe Todd: Yes, the synthetic towelette. Dr. Mike: And you have the cotton towel, which is what I like Todd: It’s kind of a wow factor. There are some offices that like one and some like the other.

Dr. Mike Milligan: and there’s a warmer. Here is what it looks like. It comes out like this. This is the cotton towel you just open that up at the end of the appointment, a nice warm towel and it’s cotton and just feels so good he put that on my hands and I said I need this so I bought it for my dental office. We figured out that it would be about $.39 per towel, which is really a first-class service for the patients at the end of the appointment and then $.15 for the synthetic towelette, a wipey type of towel. At 30 patients a day times four days a week for 50 weeks, that is 6,000 patients, a nice round number. Times that by $.39 and you’re at $2,340 for the year. The $.15 type of towel, you’re at $900 for the year. For the service that you’re getting I really think it sets your office apart. Todd: It makes sense as an internal marketing piece. The patients want to clean up. If you offer them a hot towel to do it with, you get the added benefit of a very positive mental impression they think this is first-class, they associate it with you, and they remember where they got it lessening the likelihood they’re going to shop around and setting an expectation they are comfortable with and people go where they are comfortable.”
