Dr. Mike Milligan: Hi, I’m Dr. Mike Milligan and we’re here at the Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting but and I’m really excited for you to hear about this, it’s fantastic and brand new. I’m here with Dr. Mark Malterud of Natural Crown. So it’s called Natural 1, the company name is Direct Crown. They’ve been around for about 10 years. It’s a brand new product though. They have had it in the country for about two weeks. Mark tell us about Natural 1.
Breakthrough in Crown Restorations for Your Dental Practice
Dr. Mark Malterud: Well the Natural 1 Crown is a logical sequence that stem from early use of temporary poly-carbon and temporary restorations. We’ve all used them and our assistants are well trained in using the poly-carbons. The poly-carbonate crowns always had a flaw to them that you had so many shells you had to use that this allows inter-proximal cut out that is patented by Direct Crown. That is exactly why I went to this company for the support for this particular product. That inter-proximal cut out allows for us to create any type of emergins profile, the inter-proximal contact. We can control the width of the restorations, so rather than having a box of hundreds of shells what is in this kit is actually shells three different sizes for each of the posterior molars and pre-molars. So 48 shells, it gets you to run the gamet of all of the shells you would need to restore virtually every tooth in the mouth.
