Cliff Magnesson: We started in the intra-oral camera business about 18 years ago. We focused primarily in intra-oral cameras because when you focus on something you have to do it very, very well.

With that much history working with dentists over the years, we’ve come to know and appreciate what the dentists need the camera to do. A lot of things have changed over the years in intra-oral cameras, so what we have done to design the new DocPortMacro is go to some of our users to find out what they really wanted in an intra-oral camera. What we heard from everybody is that they really wanted something easy to use, that a new staff member could pick up. If it’s not easy, it’s not used and it sits on the shelf.
DocPortMacro is Simple to Use, Effortlessly In Focus, and Error Free
The first goal was to achieve something that was simple for everybody. Secondly everyone said I need to get close ups for detail. Third thing we heard is to make it so it won’t fog up on the doctor. Ours is also perfectly flat on the lens, so it accepts the disposable sleeves without distortion on it. We got rid of the focus slides and dials that make it hard to use so you don’t have to continually adjust focus. If it’s in the mouth, it’s continually in focus. It also has a really good value to it. It’s not the cheapest one on the market. Our clients want something they can rely on, because wasting the dentist’s time is aggravating. Ours is FDA and OSHA approved. The list price on the camera is $3995. We usually have some type of promotion going on. We have a trade in promotion going on now to reduce your price point. ”
